Ms. Long is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Practice Groups.  Her practice is devoted to a wide range of commercial litigation, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy matters.  Ms. Long has represented clients in state and federal courts in a variety of matters, including breach of contract, commercial collections, commercial foreclosures, preservation of mental health records, commitments to mental health facilities and other commercial disputes.  She also regularly assists corporate clients with reviewing, revising and drafting purchase and service agreements.  Ms. Long is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee and organized the first annual Krieg DeVault Diversity Scholarship.  During her tenure at Krieg DeVault, Ms. Long has assisted the Recruiting Committee, conducted in-house and on-campus interviews, and served as the Summer Coordinator for the firm’s Summer Associate Program for 2008 and 2009.

Representative Experience

  • Co-representation of an individual plaintiff which prevailed in a bench trial against an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”), where the Court found that the ESOP violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1975 (“ERISA”) and the terms of the ESOP itself in its payment of ESOP benefits to terminated participants
  • Co-counsel in several matters involving issues of breach of contract 
  • Co-representation of several major financial institutions relating to commercial collections and commercial foreclosures
  • Represented company in contested summary judgment hearing relating to enforcement of a student loan agreement
  • Have represented manufacturer of gas turbine engines in drafting, revising and negotiating agreements for the purchase of products
  • Have represented mental health facilities in commitment hearings
  • Have represented mental health facilities in hearings contesting the release of mental health records
